6 Curb Appeal Tips for Fall
Looking to
sell your house this fall season? Make sure you house catches a buyer's eye
this fall with our tips on adding curb appeal to your residence.
Keep your landscape well maintained. While brilliant fall foliage can automatically make your home more appealing for showings, that dose not mean you can slack off on your lawn and surrounding landscape during the fall season. Keep fallen leaves off your lawn with frequent raking and patch up any brown spots.
Fall flowers. Once the fall foliage has been removed from your lawn, spice it up with a splash of colour. As your summer plans begin to fade for the season, replace them with a more vibrant flower such as mums or another fall flower.
Highlight your main entrance. Making your front door or entrance the focal point of your home is a great tip on bringing in potential buyers for your home this fall season. A simple fall wreath or adding a fresh coat of paint (vivid red works best) can make your entrance stand out.
Cleaning out the gutters is a must! Staying on top of yearly and monthly maintenance lets the buyer know you care about your home's upkeep. During the fall, be sure to clear your gutters and downspouts of leaves and other debris, which will protect your home from water damage.
Add outside lighting. As the days are getting shorter with the fall season, it becomes important to provide potential homebuyers with a safe path to your front door. Use decorative lights to illuminate walkways and install flood lights or lanterns to brighten up your entrance.
Keep the decorations simple. With subtle fall decor such as a wreath on the front door or pots of season flowers will make your home look inviting. Going overboard will distract the buyer from the potential of your home. Save your halloween decorations for another year.
